Jerry Lopez

Jerry Lopez Jr. is a Canary island descendant and third generation American fisherman who lives in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana — a small fishing community just southeast of New Orleans. He grew up trawling for shrimp, dredging oysters and fishing crabs in the Louisiana marshlands. A truck driver, drag racer, automotive customizer and high performance automotive machinist, Jerry recently sold his 18-wheeler and opened Hollywood SOUTH Customs, which specializes in the customizing and restorations of classic Corvettes. Favorite saying ….”Knowledge is Horse-Power.”

Jerry has studied acting with “The Renaissance Lady,” legendary acting coach Veleka Gray, and is currently the lead player in webseries-turned-feature film SUBROSAN, having just recently finished filming the first episode with writer/director Dwayne Coots. Look for him in a supporting role on Tony Severios’ feature RUGARU, along with a supporting role in RING OF DARKNESS, which Randall Nall and Rory White are scheduled to start filming in February. Having heard of Jo Custer’s tenacity and drive, when approached with the HOTCAKES script and the challenges he would face portaying Chico Vega, he was all in.

Jerry has a daughter, Chloe Elise Lopez, and attributes his success thus far to his faith, family and friends. To sum up his philosophy in his own words: “I take the unknown turns ahead. I brake slightly to negotiate the entrance, accelerate in the Apex and put the hammer down into the straightaways. Before you know it, that scary turn in the road is just a learning curve in the rearview mirror.”
